United Seniors of Oakland and Alameda County (USOAC) is a non-profit organization that grew out of an organizing project in 1986 undertaken by and for elderly persons.  In 1991, the Sponsoring Committee of the organizing project, along with other elderly persons and supporters, decided to democratically legitimize the organization at a founding Convention. United Seniors of Oakland (and later USOAC) was formed at that Convention on September 7, 1991 with the mission, "To provide institutional support for Seniors, to collectively participate in the public arena, to act from a position of strength, to enable the elderly to address the critical issues, and to change the
conditions that impact their lives.”

Our Goals:

To surface and develop older adult leadership capacity
T
o develop an older adult strategic plan
To address broad based older adult issues

T
o increase community involvement
